Raupō Riverside Café & Restaurant

Raupō is situated in the heart of Blenheim overlooking the Taylor River. We are open 7 days and nights starting with breakfast from 7.30 – 11.00am. Lunch is available from 11.30 – 2.30 and our evening menu is served from 5.30 until late.

We have an extensive morning and afternoon menu, there is something there for everyone. Fresh muffins are baked daily, or ask your waiter to see our truly scrumptious tray of petite fours, cup cakes and truffles.

Private dining is a specialty with two areas to choose from. Our upstairs dining area caters for up to 24 and is a delightful room to hold your special function. We also have a private dining area for 6. This is perfect for your private meeting or intimate dining. Our set menus are wonderful value or perhaps you would be interested in our 5 course ‘surprise’ degustation menu (available by prior arrangement).

Enjoy our open fire, perfect for those cold winter nights. Relax on our terrace with platter and wine and watch the world gently flow by.

Raupō Riverside Café History

Marcel and Helen Rood's decision to name their new restaurant Raupō began one Sunday morning with the couple's discovery of a plaque sited on Liquorland's wall in High Street. The plaque paid tribute to the significant contribution of an early settler and trader, one James Wynen, known as The Dutchman. It identified the area as being the approximate site of his Raupō Store erected in 1850.
